Black Lace-Up Ankle Booties

Hi friends! My bubba has a fever so this post is going to be short + sweet. He hasn’t been sick since last winter so his high fever seems extra scary since it’s been a while since he has had one. Max is the type of kid that will never complain if he doesn’t feel well. Like even now if I ask him how he’s feeling he will say “I’m good” even with a 104 fever and having  just gotten sick (on my duvet mind you).

On a different note, I am seriously obsessed with this outfit- the dress, the booties, and the burgundy hat. It gives me major fall fever! And how about all that gorgeous bougainvillea? My friend Taylor who shot my photos and I were on the hunt for bougainvillea and somehow we found the motherload. I was really inspired by the Anthropologie catalog cover which featured this dress in a field of pretty flowers.

One of my favorite ways to transition my wardrobe to fall is pairing dresses with booties. The weather here in Orange County doesn’t really cool until around Halloween so this way I can have a fall vibe without overcooking myself in layers. I especially love the combination of this ultra feminine boho maxi dress with these military style black lace-up ankle booties. It kind of reminds me of the combo I wore in this post (which is still one of my all-time favorites because duh, flower crown).

I have to admit… it had been a while since I last shopped at Payless, and I am impressed. I was going through their website drawing up a list of my favorites and it became quite a list. I love to splurge but I also love a deal or sale. It makes me feel like I have made money haha. I am especially obsessed with their new line of KangaROOS sneakers. Do you remember them from the 80’s? I don’t, but my hubby does and Max is pretty much obsessed because the sneakers have little pockets (what boy wouldn’t love that!!?), The sneakers are so d-a-r-l-i-n-g and better yet affordable too. I might be buying them in every color for the kiddos!
