Kimono Maxi Dress

So I am not going to lie… when I first saw this kimono maxi dress,  I thought to myself “hmm,” and not in a good way. Maybe you are having the same reaction? Have you ever had a pretty strong negative reaction or dislike to something that turns into a positive? This happens to me all the time with music. While driving, I will hear a new song that has a very catchy beat or chorus or whatever and it drives me crazy for some reason, and I have to immediately change it. Then a week or so goes by, and I am turning up that same song. I think when you have a strong gut reaction to something- like/dislike or love/hate are closely related. Not trying to get too philosophical on you 😉 let’s get back to this amazing dress.

I spotted this kimono maxi dress dress online at Anthropologie, and it is a collaboration between Anthropologie and Paper Crown– two of my current favorites. I thought about this dress for a day or so, and then I couldn’t get it out of my mind and thought I love this dress! I don’t own anything with this amazing combination of colors. I really like how it looks paired with the texture of this Madewell beach tote. Maybe you have noticed, but I have been wearing these gladiator sandals nonstop. They go with almost everything, and I literally wear them all the time. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes because my feet are so narrow, and these fit like a dream and are so comfy. I also like how they look dressy even though they are a flat.

This kimono maxi dress would be great staple piece for summer vacation. Maybe think about it for a few days. 😉
