White Gauze Beach Dress
It’s been a while, but I am excited to share some photos from our recent trip to the Big Island, Hawaii. I have about a million or so photos to share from our trip so I am going to have to break this up into a few posts. This is the first! We went with a group from my husband’s work, where they were celebrating the top performers in the company. I have been to Maui and Oahu a few times, but this was my first trip to the Big Island. Before we left for our trip, a few people gave me the head’s up that the island has a lot of lava rock. I wasn’t really sure what that meant until I got there, but yeah they were right. We stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa, and the beach is literally all rocks. Not “the beach rocks” but more it is rocks haha. By the end of the trip, we knew where the good sandy beaches were and the things you definitely don’t want to miss while on the island. Make sure to check back to the blog for that round-up.
We shot these photos just down the street from our hotel at the Mauna Lani, which has the most amazing landscape… you have to scroll down to see. At the end of our shoot, we ended up at a sandy beach (hooray!).
There were jumping fish in the water, and they literally jumped up out of the water at least a foot high. It was the coolest thing! I wish we could have captured it on camera.
Mornings and coffee with this guy are my favorite. 🙂

and here’s the sandy beach!
There’s actually a cool little story behind this bracelet. I wore it almost the entire trip- both in the water and out. It’s by My Intent, and the creator of these bracelets wanted to inspire meaningful conversations by engraving a word into a bracelet that’s your word. The word I chose is tenacious, which is a short way of saying never give up. Sometimes I get discouraged with blogging because there are so many bloggers out there, so much competition. And I put a lot of time, energy, and thought into things that maybe don’t get the results that I had hoped for. When I wear this bracelet and see it throughout the day, it is a positive reminder to stay focused and never give up.
Max cooperated for a picture yay! And P.S. that train he’s carrying has been a life-saver. That train has been through so much- covered in sand, taken in water, driven in mud and it still holds up and he loves that thing.
