There’s No Place Like Bed…

December 21, 2018

This post is in collaboration with Casper Sleep. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The end of 2018 brought a lot of change into my life. Max and I moved into a new home in a new development neighborhood. My neighborhood is literally a construction zone, and the beginning and end of my days are filled with construction workers and noises… which I know this sounds weird… I like. I think I am just SO grateful to have a fresh start in a new home, despite the hammering noises outside. I LIVE for new so it’s worth it to me. ; We are still living in Orange County, and our new neighborhood is close enough to our old house that Max could stay at the same school.

To know me is to know I’m a touch OCD. When I moved, I didn’t bring any of our old mattresses, sheets, blankets, towels, etc. I wanted all new, all fresh and I was willing to wait for it. I literally slept in Max’s twin bed with him for over a week while figuring out the mattress situation for my room.

After doing online research about the best mattress-in-a-box brands (in-store mattress shopping is almost as bad as going to the DMV), I came across Casper. They have amazing reviews and a risk free trial for 100 nights. The stars were aligned with the timing of my move because they had just launched their newest product the new Casper Wave mattress. Casper has extremely affordable, competitively priced quality mattresses, but their Wave is their premium mattress intended for an uninterrupted night’s sleep. It has advanced support, temperature regulation, and 5 layers of premium foam.

I work out a lot, and I work out hard. So my body can have a lot of aches and pains. It has nothing to do with my age I swear! 😉 I have been sleeping on my new Casper Wave mattress for over a month, and those pains are gone. My upper back, neck, and shoulders would feel stiff and sore, and that pain is virtually gone. It is life changing!

I am also very particular about the temperature in which I sleep. I can’t stand being hot when I sleep BUT I also love to bundle up in down comforters. I usually crank up the AC, and use a lightweight down comforter but this mattress really helps so I don’t get sweaty and hot. The cover of the mattress is made of actual wool which sounds like it would warmer and counter intuitive, but it is breathable and so cool. I mean a wool mattress cover! My previous mattress wasn’t a foam mattress so I worried that switching to this type of mattress would be an adjustment and that it would be too firm. The mattress has several layers of premium foam in a soft cover so it made my transition to this type of bed easy.

Being on my own has been an adjustment… especially when it comes to little everyday things like having a large box or piece of furniture I need to move. The new Casper Wave mattress comes with free in-home set-up, which SOLD it for me.

After sharing Max’s twin bed for a week while I was getting my own situated, we became so accustomed to sharing a bed. So when my bed was set-up, Max wanted to sleep in my room with me. Once he tried out my new mattress, we had to get him his own Casper twin. And now we are both happily sleeping in our respective beds.
