Retail Therapy App Review

July 9, 2018

My husband is always telling me- you’re a shopper, but you’re a shopper that always finds the best deals. I love my discounts! Anyone else feel like they are making money when they  score a discount?! It’s funny because sometimes I will be so cheap on some things but I’m OK on splurging on that designer handbag. In my twisted mind, it somehow all makes sense. I try to be thrifty on what I can so when that dream handbag comes along I can make it happen!

Today’s post is in partnership with the Retail Therapy App, which if you live in the O.C. like me, you will recognize it’s parent company- Irvine Company. Basically Irvine Company developed this app which scores you hundreds of discounts on a variety of things- restaurants, retail, spas, and more. Right now the app offers deals in Orange County and Santa Clara County, and you can download it here! I tried out the app for myself at a few spots in Orange County, and in today’s post I’m sharing my experience.

My first experience using the Retail Therapy App was visiting Magikids Robotics Lab in Irvine. As a mom, I am always searching for new and fun things for the kids to do. What kiddo doesn’t like robots! Using the app, you can get two free classes when you enroll go one week of summer camp (*valid through 7/31). Keep scrolling down…

I don’t know about you guys, but lately when we go to the movies we end up spending a fortune. Our date nights at the luxury movie theaters with wine and snacks (after we’ve gone to dinner) are starting to feel like meals at a five-star restaurant haha. I LOVE getting deals on going to the movies. This may stem from my childhood and stopping at the grocery store first to stock up on Starburst and Skittles and sneak them into the theater… which ahem, I would *never* do anymore. 😉 Using the Retail Therapy App, you can get $6.50 movie tickets at the Edward’s Marketplace for any movie before noon. Max got a kick out if popcorn and candy so early in the day, and it was a fun mommy/son date. Especially great for summer!

Being a mom, I am almost always tired. It’s those moments where I don’t feel tired where I actually say out loud- oh my gosh, I’m not tired. Usually that passes pretty quickly, haha. I rely on coffee and some sort of sweet treat to get me through the afternoon… and the thought of making dinner, cleaning dinner, bath time, and bedtime routine. I’m tired just thinking of it! Wine always helps too.

But first coffee! I was out running errands at the Irvine Spectrum, and popped into the new Habana Coffee Shop. Currently on the Retail Therapy App, you can get a free Cuban Pastelito with any coffee. You may be like me and thinking to yourself, what the heck is a Pastelito. You guys, oh my GOD they are so good! I don’t like my pastries to be too sweet, and this one is perfect! I chose the guava, which sounds like a trip, but is so delicious. I planned on only taking a few bites (trying to get Cabo ready), but the whole thing quickly disappeared. And I’m waiting for my next fix! Also Habana is so CUTE! Definitely worth a stop if you are in Orange County.

The most recent place I used the app is Kendra Scott in Fashion Island. I call Fashion Island my happiest place on earth. I remember first hearing about Fashion Island in my sorority days, one of the rushees was telling me she was from Orange County and mentioned Fashion Island. I remember thinking- is it an island? Of course I just played it cool like I knew what the hell she was talking about.

Fast forward a few years later, I ended up moving to O.C. And never. looking. back. Fashion Island is my favorite mall- it’s outdoors and gorgeous and carries all my favorite stores. One of them being Kendra Scott. One of my favorite things about Kendra Scott is how freaking nice and happy everyone is there. Ok so I know I’m a blogger, but when I got there they had champagne and cupcakes waiting. So sweet! I recently heard Kendra Scott speak at a blogger conference, and I was just so blown away by her story and her brand.

Using the Retail Therapy App, you can get 15% off anything at the Kendra Scott location in Fashion Island ! They have so many cute statement earrings right now.. it is almost impossible to choose! I love their summer color palette- lots of whites, and pops of red, turquoise, and lavender.

If you are anything like me and love a deal, it’s worth checking out Irvine Company’s new Retail Therapy App. Max has already been asking for another movie date. Incredibles 2 anyone?

Thank you for stopping by loves, and have an AMAZING week!

Thank you Retail Therapy for sponsoring this post! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
