Oversized Ruffles

Hi you guys! I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I have been laying low this past week. Well, basically I have been in hiding. haha. About a week ago I had some laser treatments done on my face. The winter is the best time to get these types of treatments done because you want to stay out of the sun since your skin is new and fresh and more vulnerable to sun damage.

I go to this place MySkin in Costa Mesa (this is not sponsored, I just highly recommend!) and get 2 lasers- the pixel/resurfacing and an IPL. The pixel is what I feel gets you that younger looking skin, prettier texture and more plumped up. The IPL takes out any red/brown sunspots/ discolorations. I had a sunspot/freckle on my face from high school, and it still blows my mind that it is completely gone. Even after just one treatment, it was almost invisible. If you are going to get these treatments, you have to be so good about wearing sunscreen afterward or the spots will reappear.

So back to hiding out. Basically my face looked like I had been in a fire for maybe 4-5 days. I tried to not leave the house at all, expect to take and pick up Max from school. Lucky me it was raining most of the time, and I just stayed inside anyway. I wasn’t able to do any outfit shoots because of my face, and when I shot these photos I think it was day 8 after my treatment. I am obviously wearing makeup, but these photos haven’t been touched up.

I am obsessed with the oversized ruffles on this cold shoulder top. I can’t wait to wear with shorts when it gets a little warmer. It’s definitely a show-stopper piece, and I love it! The sun is starting to come out already in Orange County (which is why I had to get going on the laser treatment!) so I paired with my favorite white skinny jeans and peep toe booties. These booties are a great transition shoe to spring, and they are affordable too. I joke that they are my new “mom shoe” because I can see myself throwing these on to run around doing errands, etc. The are super comfortable, and the heel is totally wearable.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room- the pink Gucci! ha. It’s the perfect size and color for spring and summer, and I plan on wearing it to death with all my dresses. 🙂
