During the holidays, I find myself getting extra sentimental about my friendships. Like I get all sappy and teary-eyed thinking about how much I love my friends and how thankful I am for their friendship. As my own family grows, I have less and less time for myself (and I am the type of person who needs some alone time), and although I am absolutely obsessed with blogging, I see that it cuts even more into my alone time, and worse into the quality time I have with my family. Okay you might be thinking, where on earth is she going with this, but I promise I have a point. Because I don’t have a lot of spare time, I am more selective about what I do during my spare time and who I spend that time with. As I get older, I realize it’s less about the amount of friends you have and more about the quality of those friendships. I really try to surround myself with like minded people, who are positive and make me want to be a better person. I know that I could call any of my friends and tell them the absolute worst, and they would be there for me without judgement.

I actually met Danielle (DKW Styling blog) through Instagram, and as I meet more bloggers in my area I see that they have made similar friendships with other bloggers (and it is so very cool). When I started blogging, I thought it would be a very solitary activity- me in front of my computer, but it hasn’t been like that at all. But because we don’t all work together in an office or whatever, when we come together at functions or events it’s really fun to share experiences and what works and so on. Anyway, I actually found Danielle through LiketoKnow.it which is an Instagram app where you sign up once, and anytime you like a photo on Instagram that is tagged with the LiketoKnow.it link, you get an email with all the links to buy those items. She was featured in a LiketoKnow.it email or something, and I thought- oh my gosh she’s so cute and I love her style! and her hair!!! I come to find out that she is a hairstylist (and fashion blogger) and lived in my neighborhood at the time (what?!). I had hair extensions already, but I always had issues and my hair was damaged. Fast forward almost a year and a half later, she has been doing my hair, and my hair has never been this healthy or looked this good. And she really encouraged me to finally start my blog AND we have become great friends!

I love collaborating with Danielle on these shoots because we have such similar style and because it’s just fun. Whenever I am with Danielle, we get those giggles where you can’t stop even if you want to, and our photographer had to say- you girls are talking and laughing too much. So if we look super smiley and happy in these pics, it’s because we are!

Holiday sweaters are the best, and they don’t necessarily have to be red & green or give an ugly sweater vibe. My go-to place for holidays sweaters is J.Crew, and both of our sweaters are from there. I have really sensitive skin, and this one is not too itchy, but I always usually layer underneath just in case. Lately I have been really obsessed with beanies with the cute pom on the top. In the past, I have been a little hesitant about buying/wearing these (so maybe you are too), but I swear you should get off the fence and try it! Anytime I wear this one, I get stopped and complimented on it by random people. My other favorite pom beanie is the one I wore recently in this post here. Apparently I am into the pink, but my next favorite would be all-white- which is so classic, soft, and pretty. Pom beanies make great gifts too!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Danielle and I have another holiday post coming to the blog soon so be sure and check back!!!

xx,

Missy
