I am beyond excited to share today’s post in collaboration with Nordstrom! As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, Nordstrom is my favorite place to shop. They carry my favorite brands and designers, always offer free shipping and returns (a must when you are an online shopper like me!), and have an excellent exchange/return policy. It is a dream come true to work with them, and if I am being completely honest, I might have shed a tear or two when I got this collaboration. Just keeping it real! 🙂
Today I am talking about shoes with Nordstrom, and these velvet pumps are my number one pick for holiday shoes. They work for Thanksgiving. They work for Christmas, and with velvet being so on trend these are so perfect! I always wear a size 8 in Sam Edelman, and I took a size 8 in these. When I first tried them on, they were extremely tight and I thought I might need to size up. But when I tried on the 8.5 they felt enormous. I talked to someone in the shoe department, and they said that the velvet material doesn’t have as much give or stretch initially so that’s why they felt so tight. I styled these shoes with a dressier look, but they would also look fabulous with a sweater and jeans.
The holidays are a time when you can throw the rules for what-to-wear/ what-not-to-wear out the window. I say anything goes, and more is more. Throw on a beanie like this one with a dressy outfit (so unexpected and cute!), pair a chunky sweater with a tutu skirt. Wear chunky knits + mesh + velvet in the same outfit. It is so festive and fun and will be sure to set you apart from what everyone else is wearing. Bonus points if you wear it with a bright red lip!
