Floral Maxi Dress

Happy Wednesday! I am really excited about this outfit that I am sharing with you today. This floral maxi dress is actually… a romper! It has built-in silk bottoms underneath the overlay (you can kind of see it peeking out in the second photo).  From Monday’s post, you already know how I feel about rompers, and I love how this one has that amazing leg slit which always reminds me of Angelina Jolie.

So, I have to admit something… in my early 20’s I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch. It was my first “real” job after graduating from college at UC Santa Barbara, and that is where I learned my amazing fashion sense that I am going to share with you… haha, okay that’s not where I am going with this. At the time when I worked there, the company was pretty hardcore about their employees looking and dressing a certain way. They wanted a very natural, makeup free look. They didn’t carry any black articles of clothing. Despite some of my personal challenges with adhering to their dress code, I enjoyed the clothing, and it was there that I became obsessed with floral prints and still am to this day.

Because this floral maxi dress makes such a bold statement in itself, I kept the bag, shoes, and accessories neutral and minimal as to not take away from the overall look. I love this white Kate Spade bag for spring. The size is so ladylike and cute. Probably one of the best wardrobe investments I have made is these shoes. While they are an investment, they are timeless and you will get a lot of wear out of them. They go with everything!
