Floral Ball Gown
This post is dedicated to my grandmother Mary Juanita Willitts who passed away on January 8, 2016. Her birthday is this month on February 19th, and I thought it was the perfect time to remember her. The pearl bracelet that I am wearing in these photos is actually a pearl necklace that she left to me. It’s hard to find the right words to say about her. She wasn’t perfect, and in her death she left a confusing jumble of hurt for those she loved the most. I want to remember the good. She was beautiful. Full of charisma and life and people wanted to be around her. She did so many things for me in my lifetime that truly helped me, and I was proud to call her my grandma. If I could use one word to describe her it would be vivacious- she was golfing, playing tennis, and going dancing in her 80’s. She never quite understood what my job was back when I sold home loans. She would always ask me- now what it is that you do again? Sell houses?… I can’t really blame her since my industry was kind of boring. I can only imagine trying to explain to her my job now and what a blog is. haha She had strong opinions and always emphasized the importance of being a classy lady. I know she would approve of this gorgeous dress. Grandma, I will remember you.

Dress: Adrianna Papell Floral Mesh Illusion Gown c/o | Heels: Valentino Rockstuds Water Rose (similar for less here {and oh so cute!}) | Pearl Earrings: Tiffany & Co. | Pearl Bracelet: Heirloom
Sometimes I envy the olden days…. where women really dressed up and attended formal balls. Speaking from the point of someone who has never worn a corset… I wouldn’t even mind wearing one! haha… we always want what we can’t have. Obviously it’s way better being a woman now without all the restrictions, but there is something so magical about getting ready and putting on a super formal dress. I fell in love with this Adrianna Papell floral ball gown the minute I saw it. Obviously I love the floral, but I am also digging the mesh. When you put this dress on, you just feel different. You can even tell from the photos I felt so dramatic (way more than I actually looked by the way haha). This dress would make an exquisite bridesmaid dress! Like if this dress was around when I got married, I probably would have built my whole wedding around it. It’s that kind of love. Adrianna Papell has the most gorgeous bridesmaid dresses that I have ever seen- like check out this post and this one.
And let’s talk about the shoes. If you follow bloggers, you have likely seen a lot of these Valentino Rockstuds, especially in the nude color. I recently found these ones which are more of a soft pink, which goes with more of my spring & summer wardrobe and these ones are such a cute dupe I kind of need them too! For the Valentino’s I sized up one size, and they fit perfect.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I may not always reply to all my comments, here & on Instagram but I appreciate them all so much. It takes me forever to do anything so I would seriously be glued to my phone and computer 24/7 which isn’t possible since I already am!
