As October/November rolls around every year I start thinking about family photos. And the thought gives me butterflies. What is it about family photos that is so stressful? And it’s not just me, my friends who I chat with say the same thing. Anytime I tell them I am doing family photos, the response is “ohhhhhh…” And then usually followed with “I don’t think I am doing them this year.” Which of course they always end up taking the family photos anyway!

It is all worth it in the end though, and I am in love with this year’s family photos taken by my friend Taylor Cole. I am lucky to have someone I am close with take our photos. That way when all our crazies come out (remember family photos = stressful), it’s no biggie. Taylor took our family holiday photos last year (in this post), and I love how different the concepts are. This year’s concept all started with this photo (thank you Pinterest) + our matchy-matchy black shoes from Payless.

I am really proud to be a Payless partner. I can honestly say one of my favorite go-to pair of shoes is by Payless (styling them on the blog soon, but you can shop them early here!). The kids are constantly grabbing their Payless shoes over their other pricey pairs. I bought Max some rain boots from Zara before I ordered him this Payless pair, and he only wants to wear his Payless rain boots “with the loops on top.” Lily’s boots have a similar look to Uggs but for way less, and she says they are SO comfortable. The kids were wearing their shoes so much that I had to put the kibosh on it so the shoes would look new and fresh for the family photos.

The next step was convincing my husband to wear this onesie. He is a trouper, am I right? I must say we made quite a sight at the tree lot haha. I built the rest of the outfits around Chad’s. I wanted to keep most of the outfits neutral toned in grey, black, and white so I could hang them in my house.

The pj idea is so cute, and I LOVE how inexpensive it is. I think Chad’s outfit cost the most at around $50, but the rest of us are wearing pj’s that were about $20 each. You can’t beat that! Shoes are so expensive, especially for kids who outgrow them so fast so I love that these Payless shoes worked so perfectly for our family photos.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!! LOTS of exciting posts coming to the blog this week so please check back!!! xx, Missy

In collaboration with Payless, all opinions are my own. Thank you Peltzer Pines for allowing us to shoot at your tree farm!
