My hair was a hot mess the day I took these pics, but I love this fun & flirty date night outfit so I thought I would share anyway. You might be saying to yourself- hey, her hair looks good… you should see my hair… but keep in mind I had a zillion other pictures that didn’t make the cut ha!

My hubby and I recently started making date night more of a priority. Neither of us have family that live in Orange County so in order to go on a date night we have to get a babysitter. I am one of those over-protective moms so for the first two years I was too nervous to leave Max with anyone. It was getting to the point where I was going to maybe 2 movies a year (and I loooove going to the movies) and Chad and I were feeling disconnected. Getting a babysitter and planning date night isn’t the easiest. Always rushing around trying to feed Max before we go and scrambling to get ready and fill in the babysitter on everything. But I really enjoy getting dressed up for my honey and having an adult evening. We are really trying to get in the habit of going on date night at least every other week.

I actually found this little blue dress when I was collaborating with OC Style Report for their blogger of the month feature. I loved everything that I wore for that shoot, but this dress was the one thing that I couldn’t part with. I wore it for my last look and didn’t take it off. Some things you put on, and they just feel like you and make you so happy. This dress does that for me. I really try to buy only things that make me feel that way, but let’s be honest that feeling is so amazing because it doesn’t happen all the time. I know the fringe jacket covers up the dress so to see the full shebang, check it out here & here, and also the pics from when I wore it for OC Style Report.

I actually got the idea to wear the over the knee socks from one of my blogger friends Kaitlin (check out her cute blog here). I was shocked by how warm the socks actually kept my legs, and it’s a fun twist for your OTK boots.

A few quick notes on sizing. I typically take a small in dresses, but I got a medium in this one (I think it’s more junior’s sizing) which fits perfectly. The small would be WAY too short on me. And the over the knee socks work perfectly paired with over the knee boots, but they do sag when worn on their own. I only wear them with my OTK boots.

Thanks as always for stopping by!

XO Missy
