Cloud Dress

This might be my all-time favorite post. I can’t even handle this gorgeous Mara Hoffman dress in contrast with the fields of pink flowers. The dress is 100% linen and feels very luxe and sophisticated which helps balance the whimsical cloud print. I am really drawn to statement pieces, and this dress definitely makes a statement. I had to swing by and pick up Max from his pre-school in this dress, and I can’t even tell you how many compliments (okay and stares) I got in it. Taylor and I shot these photos at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad which are about a 40 minute drive from my house. I had never been there before, and because I am such a flower lover I was so excited to make the trip. My only small complaint was that they had the fields taped off with green tape to prevent you from actually walking among the flowers. As you can see from the photos, we might not have “understood” that was the rule. I am such a rule follower and scaredy cat, and I would panic jumping out of the flowers thinking we were going to get busted (which we totally did btw). At one point, my dress got caught on my shoe as I was trying to rush out and I literally almost went flying. ha! Now, I am absolutely DYING to hit a tulip field at some point, preferably one that allows you to get in there with the flowers.

I hope everyone had an amazing Mother’s Day! We spent the weekend at our family’s beach house in Cambria, and I got to be with my mama and also my babies so it was a perfect Mother’s Day this year.

P.S. A word on sizing with the dress. I generally wear between a size 2-4, and I could barely squeeze into the 4 in this dress. I would say it runs a size small. If you are bigger in the bust, definitely size up 1 size. If you are petite it might run true to size for you.
