Happy Monday my lovelies! Today is a special day because it’s my stepdaughter Lily’s 10th birthday. I seriously can’t believe she is 10! I have been in Lily’s life since she was in her two’s and diapers so it has been a really fun experience watching her grow up. Because it’s a school night, we are doing dinner, cake, and presents tonight. And then on Saturday she is having a sleepover at our house with her two best girlfriends. We actually haven’t had a sleepover at our house for her yet, so I am really excited for her… and for me! haha. I always take it a step too far like… should I buy them all matching pj’s or sleeping bags!?! I am re-living my childhood through her I guess haha.
So… I’ve posted a few sneak peeks of this outfit on Instagram, mostly because this black lace romper keeps selling out. If you love it and need it (and P.S. you do!), just keep checking back on Nordstrom and sizes keep coming available. I am wearing a size small here, and I feel it fits perfectly. I have a bigger bust and it’s quite roomy in chest area. I am tall, so I really couldn’t size down because then it would really be giving me a wedgie if you know what I mean.
I can honestly say this romper is hands-down my favorite thing in my closet right now, and it’s under $100. The ruffle, lace detailing is so gorgeous and special you can’t help feeling pretty in it. This romper is sure to get you lots of compliments. Now, I must give my disclaimer… this romper requires help getting on and off. It has buttons in the back, and while it wouldn’t be impossible to do by yourself… it would be really hard. So keep in mind every time you have to go to the bathroom, you need a helper to unbutton and button you. So it’s not ideal… but to me this piece is so pretty and affordable it wasn’t a deal breaker.
I accessorized with emerald tassel earrings, a leopard clutch, and strappy black heels. One of the huge trends I noticed at New York Fashion Week is that tassel earrings are in for Spring 2017 so get yours now and be ahead of the trend. I also have major heart eyes for this pair. I’ve styled this leopard clutch in recent posts here and here. It is my personal opinion that every girl needs a leopard bag and a red bag in addition to your neutrals and blacks. And these black lace-up’s also come in beige… I was torn between both colors but ultimately ended up choosing the black since I have so many beige lace up sandals already I needed to diversify.
Oh, and this is now the THIRD black lace romper I have in my closet. Eep! I have officially cut myself off. Check out how I styled the other black romper here.
Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate each and every one of you for stopping by!
Happy birthday Miss Lily! xoxoxoxox
