Summer is almost here (whether we are bathing suit ready or not, ha!) so if you aren’t quite ready to go bathing suit shopping let’s talk about the cutest little black bathing suit cover-up (that’s under $60!!!). Lately I have been obsessed with swimsuits and dresses that have strategically placed cut-outs highlighting the upper portion of your midsection (like the dress in this post or the one-piece swimsuit in this post). These cut-outs are so flattering and have a slimming effect, and I can’t get enough. This outfit reminds me of this ensemble which I wore recently in Hawaii. This bathing suit is still one of my all-time favorites. It’s definitely a splurge but so worth it to have that magic swimsuit that you always feel good in. Honestly I thought that was an urban legend until I met that swimsuit.

As far as sizing goes, I got the bathing suit cover-up in a medium, but a small would have probably been better. Topshop usually runs a size small so I sized up, but it wasn’t necessary. I put the cover-up on in the car and didn’t realize how loosely I had tied the halter straps. It can definitely been tightened or loosened to your liking since you tie it around your neck like a bathing suit top. It is extremely sheer so keep in mind it definitely is a swimsuit cover-up and not a dress.
