Lampshading

I didn’t know what lampshading meant until recently so chances are you probably don’t know what it means either. And if I tell you that the Kardashians supposedly started the lampshading craze, your mind is even more likely to go in the wrong direction. ha! It’s pretty simple actually- lampshading is pairing an oversized top/tunic/dress that ends just above the knee with over the knee boots so basically it resembles wearing a lampshade. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a good thing, but it’s actually really cute! I am obsessed with this tassel dress, and you might be too when you find out it’s only $33! And it’s a reputable brand. Buy this dress to wear now- simply pair with a chunky long cardigan and some OTK boots and you are done. This dress easily transitions to spring & summer and would make a really cute bathing suit cover-up!

Maybe you are still on the fence about trying the over the knee boot craze- which is a trend that is here to stay! If you are hesitant, you probably won’t dive in and buy $800 Stuart Weitzman’s. These black over the knee boots are more affordable and really beautiful. My photographer even thought they were the Stuart Weitzman ones! My only gripe is that if you have slender legs, they might fall down a bit. They have adjustable ties in the back, and they look cute slouched down as well.
