Beauty Product Favorites
1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Ever since I tried this foundation for the first time a few years ago, I haven’t used anything else. I use it both for everyday makeup and photo shoots. It has great coverage while still looking natural, and what I especially love is that it doesn’t smudge off. Isn’t that the worst when makeup smudges off on your clothes or worse yet your guy’s clothes? Ew. This foundation gives my skin a flawless finish, and I am obsessed. Definitely one to try!
2. Clarisonic Mia Cleansing Brush If you don’t have one of these yet, you are truly missing out. I was a little late to the Clarisonic game. I finally got one when I was pregnant with Max because I was having hormonal breakouts under my chin and jawline (so annoying), and I didn’t want to use any products with ingredients that could hurt the baby. I am not even exaggerating, when I say that after I used the Clarisonic I didn’t get any more of those breakouts. Not one! Crazy!!! I have very sensitive skin that turns red just to the touch, and the Clarisonic is gentle enough to use on my skin (I use the sensitive brush head- which is the one that comes with it). Honestly, if you are using the Clarisonic, it doesn’t even matter what face wash you use. It makes your skin feel super soft and smooth and gives it a good clean slate to apply your makeup.
3. Smashbox Foundation Primer I was really skeptical about primers and whether they really did anything until I tried this one. With my Clarisonic + this primer, my foundation goes on extremely smoothly. I rarely use foundation without it.
4. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive This pink lip crayon may seem random on my list, but I am seriously obsessed. It is the perfect pink, has an amazing mint scent that is so unbelievably refreshing, and it is under $10. I have gotten stopped by random people on the street complimenting my lipstick, and this is the one I am wearing. I wear it for all my photo shoots because it is the perfect natural pink.
5. Glamboxes I have mentioned before that I have perfectionist tendencies, but shockingly my makeup was always a mess. I never could keep it organized and would have some in my drawer and a few makeup bags going. When you are trying to get ready, to me it is so much more fun when everything is laid out and pretty. I got my Glambox a few months or so ago, and my makeup has stayed organized.
6. They’re Real Benefit Mascara This mascara elongates and volumizes your lashes like no other. It also has tiny little wisps on the end that you can use to get the tiny eyelashes on the inner rim of your eye.
7. GlamGlow Thirtsy Mud Hydrating Treatment My skin is really dry, all year long. I have tried everything, from Kiehls to La Mer, and this works the best for me. You can wear it as an overnight hydrating mask, and I actually use it every night. It smells delicious and moisturizes my skin so I don’t have any of those annoying little dry flakes. The only downside is that it is kind of messy and gets on your pillow. I ‘might’ be applying too much though. 😉
8. Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Palette This is my everyday palette. The colors are pretty and neutral and perfect for mix and match. They are great for both day and night, and the price is right!
9. BeautyBlender Makeup Sponge To use the beautyblender, I saturate it with water and then firmly squeeze the water out. I upend my foundation so a blob is on the sponge. I dot my entire face with the sponge and then bounce the sponge across my face instead of wiping it. The effect is a very dewey coverage, and you don’t have to use as much makeup to get full coverage.
10. BeautyBlender Disc Cleanser If you are going to use the beautyblender, you have to clean the sponge before reusing otherwise it is probably better to just use your hands. 😉
11. Latisse I have tried a few different ways to lengthen my lashes. I have very full lashes, but they aren’t very long. Before I had Max, I used to get eyelash extensions which are nice but requires a long appointment which is hard for me with Max. I use Latisse nightly, and it really works!
