Vacation Edition: What to Pack for HIM

I’m going to fill you in on a little secret… and my husband is probably going to kill me. But oh well. 😉 My husband gets anxiety on what to wear… even if it’s just the two of us going out on date night. I’ll doll myself up and squeeze into a new dress, walking down the stairs expecting some sort of compliment, and he looks down at his outfit and asks “you’re wearing that?!” Because if we are going somewhere I am usually over-dressed. And he feels like his outfit needs to match mine.
You can imagine the kind of stress packing for vacation can create. Between Chad and myself, we are quite the pair! If your guy is anything like mine, it’s good to get involved in his vacation packing. Knowing outfit planning and packing stresses Chad out, I try and be more proactive on helping him pack and shop for what he needs. All I can say is thank GOODNESS for Nordstrom, which makes it so easy.
Right before Chad and I go on vacation, we hit up Nordstrom for all the things. It’s fast. It’s easy. And they have what we need wherever we go. If we are in a real pinch (which is usually the case) at the end of the day Chad and I lay in bed and shop the newest men’s arrivals on our phones. Then we buy online with an in-store pick-up. The trick is check-marking the store you wish to pick-up from to make sure the items are immediately available. We’ll place the order at night before we go to bed, and it’s almost always ready first thing in the morning. It’s dangerously easy… if you know what I mean! 😉
We are able to get almost everything Chad needs to pack from Nordstrom, including his luggage. We recently picked up this Nordstrom spinner set and it reminds me of a MUCH more expensive set but for a fraction of the price. Another favorite are these slides. Chad would wear flip-flops every day, and out to dinner if he could. These feel slightly more elevated and trendy, and I just love them! And the price is good too. 😉 Chad’s favorite color to wear is blue, so we keep that in mind with what we bring to mix + match. We picked up these swim trunks in shark + bird prints, and they just went on sale! This polo is such a great shade of blue, and makes the perfect no-brainer gift for your man. Great for vacation dinners!
Packing List for Him (Tropical/ Warm Destination)
- Swim Trunks- one per day (or at least every other day and wash in between wears)
- Two Pairs Sunglasses (usually bring the less expensive and bring two just in case one gets lost)
- Two pairs underwear per day (or more if your guy plans on working out!)
- Flip-flops, slides, sneakers, and one pair athletic sneakers, one pair nice shoes (socks for working out and nighttime?)
- Two t-shirt options per day
- One nice shirt per day
- One pair of shorts per day, jeans
- Several lounging, pajama outfits. Usually bring enough to wear each twice.
- Workout clothes
- One bottle cologne (I got my husband hooked on having a destination scent)
- Travel outfit for return
