The Product I Can’t Live Without
I have two major regrets from my college days. The first is letting boys/boyfriends dominate my thoughts and time. I wish I hadn’t taken things so seriously and focused more on my girlfriends and having fun. My roomie from my sorority and I are still besties to this day, and almost every time I see her we talk about this. We spent too many nights hanging around waiting for the phone to ring. This totally dates me since very few of us had cell phones at the time.
My second regret is the tanning beds. Oh, how I wish I could turn back time and change this one silly little thing. There was a local tanning salon that sold unlimited monthly tanning for dirt cheap. And I wanted to get the biggest bang for my buck. I would tan almost every. single. day. I’ve never been so tan. I thought I looked so cute! My sorority bestie was also on this same tanning program, and one girl in our sorority who was more earthy and granola had to do a tan intervention on us. hah!
Fast forward more than a decade later, and my thoughts on tanning have drastically changed. I almost never leave the house without applying SPF to my face. My exposure to the sun is so limited that I am vitamin D deficient (I found this out while pregnant with Max).
My tan in these photos is a spray tan. I don’t usually spray tan my face, but I used darker face makeup to match my neck and body. I very rarely lay out without slathering on SPF. Ever since I hit my 30, it just doesn’t have the same appeal. In my 30’s, I had a wakeup call to take better care of my skin. I started investing in laser treatments and that’s when I really committed to wearing sunscreen on my face every day. The minute your skin isn’t protected, those sun spots can reappear after investing a pretty penny to get them removed.
For me personally, it’s best to have my sunscreen in my daily moisturizer. If it is a two-step process with moisturizer and then sunscreen, I am more prone to skipping the sunscreen. My skin is very dry so there is no way I would ever skip moisturizing. I’ve been using Olay off and on since my college days. The Regenerist line is my favorite, and I am absolutely loving the Regenerist Whip with SPF. It goes on so silky smooth! I switch my skin products every so often, but I always keep coming back to Olay.
You really can’t beat the price for the quality of product! If you are someone who has a hard time committing to putting sunscreen on every day, I highly recommend doing what I do and finding a combination daily moisturizer/SPF. You can find the Olay Regenerist Whip SPF at Target here!
